Maple Bathroom Vanity

We decided to update the guest bath, but didn’t want to have to take out a second mortgage to do it.  Our house was built in 1942, so existing tile could look pretty dated, but in this case, the tile is a light blue which looks pretty good.  There are some small yellow accent tiles on the floor and the tub and toilet were yellow – eek!

I built a vanity out of maple and maple plywood with a matching wall cabinet over the toilet.  We looked at a bunch of vanities for inspiration and ended up with this traditional design with bun feet and some interesting moldings.  There is a mirror to match and one of Bobie’s fabulous photos in a maple frame.  We had the vanity top made to fit out of carrera marble.  The vanity has large drawers with the top two cut out to fit around the sink plumbing.

We had the tub painted and replaced the toilet.  With the blue and white theme working, Bobie painted the walls with a white tone on tone stripe.  All in all, a great project and a great look.
